Robocad Laboratory

Laboratory Director: Professor Shimon Y. Nof


Location: Grissom Hall 126

Purpose:
Provide undergraduate and graduate level demonstrations and laboratory experience in design of robotics and automation; and support research in integrated production-information system development.

Courses Supported:
Primarily IE 574, Industrial Robotics and Flexible Assembly; other courses supported by demonstrations and periodic projects: IE 383-IE 484, Integrated Production Systems I and II; IE 584 Computer Control of Material Flow Systems; and IE 674, Computer Communication Methods for Production Control.

Research Projects Supported:
Modeling and performance analysis of robotic production/assembly systems and facilities; Design of integrated facility and control, and facility design languages. Supported by NSF, General Motors, Alcoa, Silicon Graphics, and Technomatix.
