Manufacturing Systems Laboratory

Laboratory Director: Professor Joseph I. ElGomayel


Location: Michael Golden Labs 1308

Purpose:
Provide undergraduate and graduate level demonstrations and laboratory instruction in manufacturing, machining processes, and metrology; machine shop services to faculty and staff projects; and support research in manufacturing systems, machining, and metrology.

Courses Supported:
IE 370, IE 470, IE 574, IE 575, and IE 590M as well as other courses for the School of Technology, the School of Mechanical Engineering and the School of Management..

Research Projects Supported:
Machine Tool Error Modeling and Control, Machine Tool Metrology, Precision Hard Turning, Cutting Tool Life Modeling, Ecologically Sustainable Manufacturing, Advanced Machining Technology, and Systems Aspects of Manufacturing.
