Computer-Integrated Manufacturing Laboratory

Computer-Integrated Manufacturing Laboratory

Laboratory Director: Professor James J. Solberg


Location: Michael Golden Labs 1331

Purpose:
To provide graduate level research facilities in full-scale manufacturing equipment integration. The equipment is virtually all donated from member companies in support of research projects, but is also available and used in graduate and undergraduate teaching demonstrations.

Courses Supported:
IE 484, IE 574 - Industrial Robotics and Flexible Assembly; IE 584 - Computer Control for Material Flow Systems.

Research Projects Supported:
The Quick Turnaround Cell; Superfinishing; Wire EDM of Fuel Injector Cups; Turning of Hard Materials (all Engineering Research Center projects, funded by NSF and member companies).
